Today and Everyday – YOU Matter

Mindful support, everyday connection, and small resets help reinforce resiliency.

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Today, and every day, MY FAVE 5 raises awareness on the importance of having a network of support and being there for others to talk about building resiliency and tackling life’s challenges head-on.

As the energy of summer softens and schedules change, this can be an emotional time for many people. For some, it’s the weight of new routines; for others, it’s the return of memories or worries that resurface with the season. You never really know what someone is going through—and maybe that includes you. That’s why September can be an invitation: to slow down, notice what you feel, and choose small practices that keep you grounded and connected.

This month, and every month, we return to one core reminder:

YOU MATTER and you have people in your life who care and are willing to show up for you —with empathy and without judgment.

The MY FAVE FIVE app was designed with YOU in mind. The app offers tools designed for real life—tools to ground you, connect you, and help you cope.

Action Steps for September

1. Connect With Your FAVE FIVE

We don’t always need advice—we need presence. Inside the app, the Connection tab helps you identify and stay connected with your core network of support. Invite new FAVEs, individuals who are already in your life, and reach out to talk about good and challenging experiences. Offer to be someone’s FAVE and be there for them when they need you most.

How to use it: Open the app → Connection tab → tap the “+” on the star to add a FAVE. Select someone who is already in your life who you feel comfortable talking to and sharing various topics from day-to-day activities to current struggles.

Action Step

Invite at least one person to be a FAVE this week, then send them a simple message: “Thank you for being there for me.”

2. Pause with Purpose

The Mindfulness tab gives you quick, guided practices to reset—no pressure or perfection required. Whether you have 30 seconds or five minutes, you can choose a session that meets you where you are. Explore alternate meditations when you want something new.

How to use it: Open the app → Mindfulness tab → choose a instrumental song → select duration (30s, 60s, 2m, 5m, or continuous) → press Start to begin. You can end the session anytime.

Action Step

Complete a 2‑minute mindfulness session today and notice one thing that feels different afterward.

3. Cope in a Way That Feels Right

Some days, emotions feel heavy—and that’s okay. The Coping tab offers five gentle suggestions to help you move forward without forcing it:

  • Do something creative
  • Step outside
  • Practice kindness
  • Engage in social activities (or opt out intentionally)
  • Create small, healthy distractions

How to use it: Open the app → Coping tab → choose one option and follow the in‑app prompt.

Action Step

Pick one coping strategy from the app and schedule it once this week (add a calendar reminder if helpful).

4. Remember: You’re Not Alone

Check in with your FAVE FIVE—and with yourself. Open the app when you need support, clarity, or a little peace. The ENUF Principle—Empathy, No Judgment, Unconditional Support, and Feelings—guides everything we do. And it’s always available to you.

How to use it: Keep ENUF visible. Add it to your phone notes or home screen as a quick reminder when you open the app.

Action Step

Write ENUF on a sticky note (Empathy, No Judgment, Unconditional Support, Feelings) and place it where you’ll see it daily. Practice this with others and encourage them to use this when they interact with family and friends.

5. Ready to Begin?

Download the MY FAVE FIVE app, tap Let’s get started to create or sign in to your account, and explore the Connection, Mindfulness, and Coping tabs. Small actions add up—especially when we show up for ourselves and each other.

Offer the MY FAVE FIVE app to others this month. Offer to be one of their FAVES and check in with them often.

YOU MATTER today and every day. Use September, National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, to introduce the MY FAVE FIVE app to others, especially those starting new schools, jobs or travels during this month. Show up, gently and consistently, for the people you care about.
